Pretty good way to start the week. Thank you, NY Daily News! (see image) Listen to the 95.5 WPLJ interview with Race Taylor.
SHOW THIS WEEK: I’m playing an acoustic set Wednesday (4/20) at Session 73 on the Upper East Side as part of their Wednesday Night Original Sessions - I hit the stage at 11pm…
Stay with me this Spring and Summer, got some cool shows and new twists & turns to share – Keep tabs at Facebook & Twitter!
You know what’s awesome about my name starting with the letter “M”? My song “She’ll Never Be Found” get’s listed alongside artists like Matt Nathanson, Middle Brother, Mumford & Sons, & Marc Broussard (to name a few) on All Access.com’s Cool New Music section! I’m pretty thrilled about it, and really, all I can ask of YOU is this:
CALL YOUR LOCAL COLLEGE/TRIPLE A RADIO STATION AND ASK THEM TO PLAY MY SONG!
Also…Check out my latest press with the UK’s The Monograph…It’s a short, sweet & swell little piece on me and the record! While I’d like to say the interviewer was taking liberties when conveying my excitement over her Muppets question…it is actually exactly how I reacted…I got excited by a “left field” question, and maybe my profanity got the best of me. (DISCLAIMER: Mom, don’t read this interview if you’d rather not see me use profanity…let alone profanity while speaking of The Muppets.) Someone buy me a ticket, book me some shows and put me up…I’ll hop the pond in a heartbeat.
Don’t forget, Jubilation & Jealousy is NOW AVAILABLE ON iTUNES (Pick up a copy, leave a review, rate it and enjoy!)
Come see me play an acoustic set Wednesday, April 13th – 8pm at LIC Bar in Long Island City! (Great spot, great bar, cool people)
See ya soon!
Not worth saying I’ve been on a high since Saturday night at Joe’s Pub and now that March is officially over, I can say this was a pretty damn successful “Independent Release Month.” As of today…you can now download “Jubilation & Jealousy” at all of your major digital distributors, namely iTunes. I know there have been a lot of folks holding out to buy it the iTunes way, so now’s your chance!
While I hope you download it regardless, allow me to make my case, once more, for BandCamp…Through music.EsMatteo.com, you can STILL set your price (as low as $5) and you STILL get bonus art/liner notes & lyrics. iTunes is iTunes (deep, I know) but Bandcamp gives you some extras. That’s all I’m sayin!
Thank you for your support, and I’ve got some pretty rad shows/bills/collaborations in the works for mid to late spring…all we need now is Spring!
Oh, and check out some kick ass video from JOE’S PUB!
What can I say?
Thank you – from the bottom of my heart. This was a triumphant evening & I’m truly blessed to have such support from all of you.
I can go on and on, as I’m sure any regular reader knows, but I’ll leave you with this…
I can’t wait to see what lies ahead, and all I can ask is that you all join me for the ride. Come to shows, tell your friends, and spread the word. I’m gonna keep making songs, and I hope you keep diggin’ em.
Thank you to Brian Kesley & Matt Farina for backing me up BIG TIME on stage. Jamie Bendell, Daniel McKenzie, Devon C. Johnson & Kate Sland for lending their incredible talents, and to JOE’S PUB for an amazing platform.
Before the show on Saturday night, Kate & I ran through this cover of Townes Van Zandt’s “Loretta” backstage – hope ya like it!
(thank you Chuck A. from FreeGotham.com for the video work)
P.S. come hang out with me Saturday night, April 2nd back at Joe’s Pub – Kate Sland’s group *Bellewether* is releasing their EP and you can buy tix here – I already gots mine!
